Romance is in this season. Or at least, fans won’t be as embarrassed to be seen out while reading it–the idea being that the impassive gray of a Kindle keeps Fabio’s flowing locks safe on the page, and prying eyes away. Hence the next book on the t0-read list: SF romance Touch of the Goddess by Maria Hammarblad.
Last July, I reviewed Hammarblad’s first novel Kidnapped, and though I haven’t virtually cracked the virtual spine of her next book, I anticipate based on past experience that there won’t be any reason to be embarrassed reading about space pilot Stephan Forks and mysterious goddess Maria Callaway. Here’s the book description:
When Stephan Forks gets drunk and accidentally rams another spaceship in spite of the vastness of space, it’s more than an accident; it’s fate. In the next moment, a strange woman is standing on his bridge, looking around with a frown. Adventures and danger go hand in hand during the upcoming days, as the collision resonates through not only his own life, but changes the destiny of the world as he knows it. Book one in a series of three.
Drunken love… I feel like I’m back to college already.
